Reindeer and husky farms · Rovaniemi
A guide takes you from Rovaniemi to a reindeer farm and a husky farm, then drops you at Santa Claus Village for free time. It's the easiest one-day package for families who want a bit of everything, with the honest catch that both rides are 500 metres.

This is a package day, and it's good at being one. You're collected in Rovaniemi and taken to a reindeer farm, where you drive your own reindeer sledge for 500 metres and get a Reindeer Sledge Driver's Licence for it. Then come the Alaskan huskies. Then lunch: traditional salmon soup (or a vegetarian soup) while reindeer herders talk about herding today.
The husky part is a 500 m sleigh ride. That's a few minutes, and guests say so: the most common wish in reviews is for longer rides. Afterwards the bus drops you at Santa Claus Village for free time to cross the Arctic Circle line, and children under 150 cm get 10 minutes on a mini snowmobile track.
At $210 per person for 6 hours it's decent value as a sampler, especially with kids. It is not a husky safari. If the dogs are the point of your trip, book a real self-drive like the 6 km safari and do Santa Claus Village on your own, or add the 2.5 km village ride for a longer go.

★★★★★A truly perfect tour for combining lots of activities in one day. The travel times to the locations were short. Our guide was super nice and answered all our questions, took photos of us, and organized everything really well!! Very tasty salmon soup [...]. There was plenty of time to explore Santa Claus Village.
★★★★★Great experience with the reindeer sleds and then with the Huskies. The dogs are adorable, and they are very well behaved, so we were able to spend some time with them. The salmon soup for lunch was delicious and tasted homemade.
★★★★★It was absolutely great and the kids loved it. The guides were really accommodating. Excellent fish soup, tea and cookies. I can only recommend this activity.
